摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an acquisition time of white reference data and black reference data of a shading correction. SOLUTION: An image reading device has: an image reading sensor which reads an image from a document; a light source which is turned on when the image is read from the document by the image reading sensor; a data acquiring portion which acquires white reference data and black reference data used for executing a shading correction for the image read by the image reading sensor; and a white reference board for acquiring the white reference data. When the white reference data and the black reference data are acquired by the data acquiring portion, the image reading sensor relatively shifts opposed to the white reference board. The light source is alternately and repeatedly turned on or off while the image reading sensor relatively shifts opposed to the white reference board. The data acquiring portion acquires the white reference data, based on a detection signal obtained from the image reading sensor when the light source is turned on, and acquires the black reference data, based on the detection signal obtained from the image reading sensor when the light source is turned off.
