PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device that can efficiently discharge heat accompanying the light emission of a light emitting element and can emit light in a large area while suppressing irregular luminance or heat generation. SOLUTION: The light emitting device 1 includes a pair of substrates 4a, 4b constituting a light emitting panel 2, and a cooling member 5 disposed on an outer surface of one substrate 4a of the light emitting panel 2.
