<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf device capable of being efficiently used by switching the light-emitting direction of an illuminator constituting an illumination means. <P>SOLUTION: This self device is storage furniture which is provided with a shelf body 11 formed of a light guide plate, and a supporting body for supporting the shelf board 11. The self device is provided with an illumination implement 13 which is equipped with the single illuminator which emits light in a specific light-emitting direction. The illumination implement 13 is equipped with a switching portion 18 which can switch between the first light-emitting direction of emitting the light toward the shelf board 11 and a second light-emitting direction except the first light-emitting one.
