摘要 [PROBLEMS] To provide a carbon nanotube production method which can produce a carbon nanotube on a large scale and at low cost. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A catalyst supported on a substrate is heated to a high temperature by heating the substrate. A feed gas containing a carbon source is supplied onto the catalyst to synthesize a carbon nanotube. The synthesized carbon nanotube is collected, and subsequently the catalyst is subjected to a regeneration treatment. In this manner, the substrate is used repeatedly. Since the catalyst is deteriorated, the regeneration treatment of the catalyst is conduced at regular or irregular intervals during the production process. The regeneration treatment of the catalyst involves an oxidation treatment of the catalyst. After the oxidation treatment, a reducing gas is supplied onto the surface of the catalyst. The catalyst is reduced by contacting with the reducing gas. As for the substrate, a honeycomb can be used.
