PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stoker type incinerator of high response and its combustion control method suppressing a property change of combustion exhaust gas even when a combustion state in the incinerator rapidly changes. SOLUTION: A burned object is charged in a stoker furnace 2 from a hopper 1, and primary air is led in from below a stoker to carry out primary combustion with primary air in a primary combustion chamber 3 and to carry out secondary combustion with secondary air in a secondary combustion chamber 4 above. At this time, when oxygen concentration in exhaust gas measured by an oxygen/carbon monoxide concentration measuring apparatus 35 is less than a lower limit threshold value or when carbon monoxide concentration exceeds an upper limit threshold value or when temperature measured by an exhaust gas temperature meter 33 exceeds the upper limit threshold value, the flow of secondary air is increased.
