PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording/reproducing system which can improve recording/reproducing characteristic by measuring variation of thickness of an optical disk indirectly and changing focus offset depending on the measured values. SOLUTION: The optical recording/reproducing system can decrease a jitter of a reproducing waveform and improve recording/reproducing performance by dividing a focusing error signal with a full addition signal to calculate the ratio, measuring a variation of the thickness of the optical disk indirectly, comparing the value with a preset first threshold, selecting an appropriate value from a focus offset adjusting table preset by learning when the comparison result exceeds a tolerance, and adjusting the focus offset.
