PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental load reduction type water-treating agent which comprises an isothiazolone compound and a nitroalcohol compound and can prevent the decomposition of the isothiazolone compound and stably exhibit high sterilization power even with a small amount of an organic solvent. SOLUTION: This water-treating agent is characterized by comprising an isothiazolone compound, a nitroalcohol compound, and, if necessary, furthermore a triazole compound, and being adjusted to a pH of≤1.5.
