PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative molded body and a manufacturing method thereof which make it possible to give beautiful decoration by coloring, with good workability, to a groove part or a projection formed as an expressive part on the molded body and moreover can make the most of spatial effect that is an excellent characteristic in terms of a visual effect which the groove part and the projection have originally. SOLUTION: An electro-conductive layer 3 in the groove part 6 is made an electrode and a colored layer 4 is formed, with the remaining electro-conductive layer 3 other than that in the groove part 6 covered with a protective layer 7. Therefore, the red transparent colored layer 4 can be laid beautifully only on the lateral side 6a and the bottom side 6b of the groove part 6 by the medium of the electro-conductive layer 3. Accordingly a decorative key top 1 of high grade can be realized without requiring much work. Besides, the colored layer 4 can be formed in the same shape as that formed by the lateral side 6a along the direction of the depth of the groove part 6 and by the bottom part 6b, and thus the key top 1 having three-dimensionally decorated English characters "OK" which can be seen like sunken characters due to the colored layer 4.
