<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm later that a copy inhibited page has been read in the case that an original including the copy inhibited page has been read. <P>SOLUTION: An image read means 9 reads the original and generates image data, and a storage means 11 stores the generated image data. A pattern information detection means 15 detects whether or not there is pattern information indicating the copy inhibited page in the stored image data. A detection history management means 13 stores and manages the presence of the copy inhibited page and the image data so as to be outputted as detection history information.
