PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near infrared photographing apparatus in which a photographing object to be mainly recognized can be accurately recognized by preventing a virtual image from being photographed by reflecting or scattering light when a photographing part gets wet or the like. SOLUTION: The near infrared photographing apparatus photographs reflection light using a near infrared camera 11 by radiating near infrared rays from a floodlight 21 which emits near infrared rays, in the direction of an object 41 to be photographed. In such a near infrared photographing apparatus, near infrared polarizing plates 31 are disposed on the optical axis of the near infrared camera 11 and the floodlight 21, and the polarizing axes of the near infrared polarizing plates 31 are made orthogonal. Furthermore, the near infrared polarizing plate 31 is disposed on the optical axis of the near infrared camera 11 and the polarizing axis of the near infrared polarizing plate 31 is made horizontal to the direction of the object 41 to be photographed, so that, in particular, a virtual image in a horizontal direction to the direction of the object 41 to be photographed is prevented from being photographed.
