PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress poor cleaning of a carrier member by a cleaning member without increasing the amount of a liquid applied to the carrier member adhering to an object such as a recording medium in contact with the carrier member. SOLUTION: A silicone oil is applied to a carrier belt 28 at the downstream in the belt rotational direction of a blade 49 and at the upstream in the belt rotational direction of a carrier region of paper P. Further, a silicone oil is supplied to the contacting part of the blade 49 and the carrier belt 28 at the downstream in the belt rotational direction of the carrier region of the paper P and at the upstream in the belt rotational direction of the blade 49.
