PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric-double-layer capacitor wherein the penetration of its moisture from the external or the evaporation of its electrolyte is suppressed to be able to improve its reliability. SOLUTION: In the electric-double-layer capacitor wherein a pair of electrodes 1, 2 are disposed to oppose to each other via a separator 3, and to store the electrodes in a container, and further, to impregnate the electrodes and the separator with an electrolyte; each of collectors 9, 10 including Si, O, and metals other than Si, preferably comprising the mixed layer of SiO and the metals other than Si is interposed between each electrode and the container.
