A transmission/reception device includes: a reception unit which receives category information associated with a function of another transmission/reception device; a selection unit which selects an interleave method according to the category information; and an interleave unit for interleaving the transmission signal to the another transmission/reception device by the selected interleave method. Thus, it is possible obtain the maximum performance of respective reception devices even when reception devices of a plurality of categories exist in a radio communication system.
