A protecting film stripping head unit and a polarizer attaching apparatus having the same are provided to supply and collect adhesive tape to and from a contact roller as uniformly maintaining tension of the adhesive tape without performing synchronization control with respect to a supply roller and a collecting roller. A supply roller(12) supplies adhesive tape for stripping a protecting film from a polarizer, and is coiled with the adhesive tape along a circumference surface. A collecting roller(13) recovers waste adhesive tape used for the stripping of the protecting film. A contact roller(14) is disposed between the supply roller and the collecting roller, receives the adhesive tape from the supply roller, and contacts and presses the adhesive tape onto a surface of the protecting film. A tension controlling buffer unit(90) is disposed on a virtual path linking the supply roller to the collecting roller, and presses the waste adhesive tape based on the uncoiled amount of the adhesive tape uncoiled from the supply roller. Therefore, the tension controlling buffer controls tension of the adhesive tape and the waste adhesive tape. |
