The headlamp has a housing (2) with a retaining bed (14), and a cover plate (5) lockable at a front opening of the housing. A carrier unit is held together with an outer peripheral side prefixed at a connecting unit (10) of the plate in the bed that is filled with a sealing compound. The unit (10) has a retaining surface at its longitudinal side (12), and is connected at a side flange of the carrier unit by laser welding. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a headlamp of a motor vehicle. |
