A joist end adapter when fitted to a joist creates a trapezoidal cross section. The adapter may comprise triangular cross section fillets which may be of wood metal or plastics material. The fillets may be nailed screwed or stuck to faces of the joist. For an I-beam joist the fillets may be attached to the central web. The adapter may comprise a wedge shaped member having a slot into which a joist, or part thereof, can be fitted. The adapter may comprise a metal structure <B>40</B>, <B>42</B> which can be fitted to one end of an I-beam joist. |
