An image device for controlling brightness by driving plural loads, and a method for controlling the same are provided to generate a dimming signal, and control the supply of a current amount to the loads by performing the PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) or AD(Amplitude Dimming) of the generated dimming signal, thereby reducing power necessary to drive the load composing the lamp. A modulator(321) generates a dimming signal for controlling a current supplied to loads(331~336). A burst dimming portion(324) controls the supply of an intermittent current amount to the load of a specific order out of the loads by performing the PWM of the generated dimming signal. An analog dimming portion(323) controls the supply of a uniform current amount to residual loads except the load of the specific order by performing the AD of the generated dimming signal.
