APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PARAMETERS IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A parameter control device for a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to change handoff parameters dynamically according to wireless environment of a cell, thereby preventing frequent handoff as improving QoS(Quality of Service). A controller(110) controls overall operation. A parameter determiner(120) updates handoff parameters according to the number of measurement reports transmitted from each mobile communication terminal during designated time. A memory(130) individually stores the updated handoff parameters as well as previously defined handoff parameters. A timer(140) confirms whether handoff parameter updating time comes. If the updating time comes, a parameter changing unit(150) extracts the updated handoff parameters from the memory(130), and sends the extracted parameters to the controller(110) to demand parameter alterations.
