A method for assessing the criteria for the morphofunctional state of the immunocompetent structures of the duodenal mucosa in the calves comprises the visual morphologic examination supplemented with histological analysis. After the death (or the forced slaughter), the duodenum is extracted from the peritoneal cavity, dissected along its lesser curvature. The duodenal content is removed, washed with water, and the excess of water is eliminated. The types of the plaques, their number, and area are indicative of the structural features of the local immunity and its cooperation in the immune protection of the body. |
