A light beam conditioner is provided to minimize loss of energy by selecting a desired output wavelength from a light beam. A first plurality of N beam splitters(110) includes a first beam splitter(110(1)), N-2 beam splitters, and a last beam splitter. The first beam splitter is formed to receive a light beam(105), to supply a first output light beam, and to supply a first internal light beam to a second beam splitter(110(2)). The N-2 beam splitters are formed to receive an internal light beam from the adjacent first beam splitter, to supply an output light beam, and to supply an internal light beam to the adjacent second beam splitter. The last beam splitter is formed to receive an internal light beam from an adjacent beam splitter and to supply a last output light beam. A filter array includes filters. Each of the filters is formed to receive a corresponding beam of the output light beams and to the corresponding beam through a beam having a selected single wavelength. A second stack of beam splitters is formed to receive a corresponding beam of the single wavelength beams. The second stack is formed to combine the single wavelength beam into a substantially single light beam having the selected wavelength.
