A variable-type exhaust pipe system for controlling exhaust noise is provided to allow waste gas to be discharged through two exhaust pipes automatically due to the strong movement of the waste gas in high-speed operation of an engine. An introduction pipe(100) is connected to an exhaust manifold such that waste gas is introduced through the introduction pipe. A main exhaust pipe(200) is positioned in opposition to the introduction pipe and connected to the introduction pipe to discharge the exhaust gas. A sub exhaust pipe(300) is installed at the first side of the main exhaust pipe to discharge the waste gas introduced from the main exhaust pipe. A pipe connector(400) is installed between the main exhaust pipe and the sub exhaust pipe to connect the main exhaust pipe to the sub exhaust pipe such that the main exhaust pipe communicates with the sub exhaust pipe. A gas passage changing member(500) blocks the main exhaust pipe. The gas passage changing member is provided at the first side thereof with a plurality of exhaust holes such that the exhaust gas passes through the exhaust holes. The gas passage changing member cuts off the pipe connector. The gas passage changing member opens/closes the flow rate of the waste gas. A muffler includes an elastic member(600) installed in the push direction of the gas passage changing member at the first side of the pipe connector to support the gas passage changing member elastically.
