PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chromium-plated product whose corrosion resistance or the like are more improved, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: In the chromium-plated product whose corrosion resistance is more improved, the surface of a chromium plating layer having microcracks and the fracture parts of the microcracks are each provided with a passive film. Further, regarding the method for producing a chromium-plated product whose corrosion resistance is more improved, in the chromium-plated product, e.g., microcracks of the form and number whose generation is predicted, e.g., on the market are beforehand generated upon the production, and also, passivation treatment is performed even to the fracture parts of the microcracks.
