Ginseng fermented with vegetable worms, an extract obtained from the ginseng, and uses of the extract are provided to increase various kinds of saponins by fermenting ginseng with vegetable worms. Ginseng fermented with vegetable worms is prepared by the steps of: coating green ginseng with starch-containing powder selected from cereal flour, potato starch, and pumpkin powder; inoculating hyphae of vegetable worms(Cordyceps spp. or Paecilomyces spp.) into the surface of the coated ginseng; and fermenting the inner part of the ginseng to allow the hyphae to penetrate the ginseng. An extract obtained from the ginseng is made by preparing the extract from the ginseng with a polar solvent. The extract has at least one effect from promotion of fibroblast propagation, promotion of collagen biosynthesis, and inhibition of melanin generation. The extract is used as a useful ingredient of the composition for improvement of wrinkles, skin moisturizing, skin whitening, improvement of skin aging, improvement of hyperpigmentation, or inhibition of melanin generation. The composition is in the form of cosmetics, medicine, food, or soap. |
