<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance flexibility in the setting of features of a reaction load of a stopper member formed of an elastic material when suppressing axial relative movements of two members by the elastic stopper member. <P>SOLUTION: The stopper member 19 formed of an elastic material which is disposed between a cylinder 11 and a piston 12 comprises a body 20 nipped between the upper surface 11c of the cylinder and the lower surface 12b of the piston 12 and compressed in an axial direction L; and projections 21 and 22 protrusively formed on the circumferential surface of the body 20 to abut on the outer circumferential surface 18b and the inner circumferential surface 11e of the cylinder 11, contact faces 21a and 22a of the projections 21 and 22 having predetermined widths in the axial direction L. When the body 20 is compressed in the axial direction L and radially swollen, the contact faces 21a and 22a at tips of the projections 21 and 22 are allowed to abut on the circumferential surfaces 18b and 11e of the cylinder 1 and compressed, whereby a rise in reaction load received by the piston 12 from the stopper 19 can be moderated.
