PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-insulated switchgear that can prevent its high-pressure gas container made of cast iron from being scattered just in case of being blown out at the time of a fault, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The gas-insulated switchgear of this invention is provided with the high-pressure gas container 1 made of the cast iron. On the surface of this gas container 1, a plurality of aromatic polyamide fibers 2 as synthetic fibers having high strength and high heat resistance are wound or glued in such a way as to cover the entire container. Furthermore, the surface of these aromatic polyamide fibers 2 is coated with a thermosetting resin. Thus, a reinforced fiber plastic layer overlies the surface of the container by the aromatic polyamide fibers 2 and the thermosetting resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
