PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push-button switch for emergency stopping superior in responsiveness of a switch part at returning a push-button body to a retreated position. SOLUTION: When returning to the original retreated position by a button returning spring 58 as a second spring by rotating operation of the push-button body 51 retained at an advanced end position, since a steel ball 64 supported by an intermediate ring 63 temporarily retains an inner ring 62 against a biasing force of a latch spring 61, pressure downward a switch movable shaft 36 is retained and a state that a movable contact point 34 is separated from a fixed contact 32 is retained. Subsequently, since responding to retreatment of the push-button body 51 to a prescribed position closer to the retreated position than the advanced end position, retention of the inner ring 62 is released and the inner ring 62 is retreated to a first position by a resilient force of the latch spring 61, pressing of a switch movable shaft 36 is released, and the movable contact 34 elastically contacts the fixed contact 32 by a switch returning spring 37.
