<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for a liquid crystal display providing a projection for orientation control by suppressing orientation failure of liquid crystal molecules and preventing deterioration of contrast even when light leakage occurs. <P>SOLUTION: The projection 3 for the orientation control is composed of a projection base 3A for the orientation control, and an insulation layer 3B formed through a transparent conductive film thereon. A projection 13 for the orientation control is composed of a projection base 13A for the orientation control, an overlapping part 13B of a colored pixel provided while forming the colored pixel thereon, and the insulation layer 3B formed through the transparent conductive film thereon.
