<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament suitable for a racket string which can provide high strength and durability and excellent ball hitting feeling though it is thin, the racket string which can provide the high strength and durability and the excellent ball hitting feeling though it is thin, and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The filament for the racket string has a cross section of a special shape in which 2 to 6 pieces of roughly circular and/or roughly elliptic shapes are linearly connected. In the cross sectional shape, when representing the maximum value of the thickness in a vertical direction to an axis connecting the centers of the respective roughly circular and/or roughly elliptic shapes as D (mm), the minimum value of the thickness in the vertical direction to the axis in the connection parts of the roughly circular and/or roughly elliptic shapes as d (mm) and the length of the filament in an axial direction as L (mm), the following expressions are satisfied: D=0.02 to 0.08 (mm), d≥0.01 (mm), d/D=0.2 to 0.7, and L=0.06 to 0.4 (mm). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
