PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing original plate which enables image recording by an infrared ray laser and on-press development and excels in plate wear resistance.

SOLUTION: The lithographic printing original plate has an undercoat layer and a thermal image forming layer on a base subject to hydrophilic processing. The undercoat layer is formed in an environment that air is supplied through a filter capacity of collecting 99% or more of particles of 0.1-0.3 μm.
