PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus where a picture quality is improved by reducing color shading. SOLUTION: Based on an image signal of a color before image processing obtained in actual photographing, the average of respective color components is calculated by each of a plurality of blocks within one picture (steps S14 to S18). Based on the result of the calculation, shading correction coefficients (a to e) being respective coefficients of a polynominal showing a shading correction characteristic set in advance is corrected. Namely, an image signal obtained by photographing is reflected to shading correction. Then, a conversion table for shading correction is prepared based on this corrected shading correction coefficient (step 30). Using the conversion table, the shading correction of the image signal obtained in the actual photographing is performed (step S32). Thus, color shading is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
