PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of smoothly intruding a steel pipe into the earth and a mountain even if the cross sectional shape of the steel pipe buried in the ground is rectangular and a drilling device for intruding a steel pipe, suitably used for the method. SOLUTION: Injection nozzles 21a to 21e are arranged in the horizontal direction of a square pipe 11 in which the nozzles are intruded, and fitted to a nozzle fitting member 22. Swing shafts 23, 23 are fitted to both ends of the nozzle fitting member 22. The swing shafts 23, 23 are rotated around a center shaft 23k by using an air cylinder 25 fitted to a second fitting member 23B mounted to the outer peripheral side of a vacuum pipe 12. The earth 70 ahead of the square pipe 11 can be excavated while the injection nozzles 21a to 21e are swung. A pipe for supplying to the injection nozzles 21a, 21b, 21c and a pipe for supplying to the injection nozzles 21d, 21e positioned on the left side are formed separately so that the square pipe 11 can be bent vertically or laterally.
