PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the accuracy of focusing operation. SOLUTION: When performing focusing operation, a first photometry value acquired by using TTL-AF and a second photometry value acquired by using a distance between eyes are separately calculated. The reliabilities of both photometry values are compared based on judgments such as whether a face is detected or not (S10), whether an environment luminance value Br is equal to or less than a reference value or not (S12), whether the focal length f is equal to or less than a reference value or not (S16), and whether the second photometry value De is less than the first photometry value Dt or not (S18).
