The switching device (1) has a switching element (5) for selecting the adjustable vehicle seats. Another switching element (6) is provided for manipulating a function of the selected vehicle seat. One of the two switching elements (6) is located on the other switching element (5). The later switching element is arranged on the former switching element, which is formed as rotary switch. The later switching element is formed as combination of rotating and sliding switch for controlling primary functions of the vehicle seats.
