<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce and decompose NOx in exhaust gas by effectively using thermal energy of exhaust gas and applying an electric field on electrolyte by thermoelectric generation. <P>SOLUTION: An exhaust gas passage formed out of solid electrolyte in which oxygen ions move under electric field and having exhaust gas introduced therein is formed. An electrolytic body 10 forming reducing region reducing NOx in exhaust gas on a high temperature side forming the exhaust gas passage is provided with thermoelectric element generating voltage for keeping the solid electrolyte under the electric field. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
