<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce and decompose NOx in exhaust gas by effectively using thermal energy of exhaust gas and applying an electric field on electrolyte by thermoelectric generation. <P>SOLUTION: An exhaust gas passage formed out of solid electrolyte in which oxygen ions move under electric field and having exhaust gas introduced therein is formed.
