A Toggle tightening device is activated by a form of pressure, particularly for car bodies. It consists of a housing (1,27) containing the toggle (39), a piston (7) and cylinder (5) and room (38) for the piston rod (8). A right angled (14) two armed (15) lever is pivoted a either end (13,17), and also at the angle of intersection (16). One end is pivoted (17) on a hooked tensioner (19), and another pivoted strap (20) pivots on the tensioner (19) at a point (22) at one end, while the other end pivots on the housing (21). Another strap (12) links the end of the two armed lever (15) with the end of the piston rod (11). USE/ADVANTAGE - The piston works the hooked rod (19) so that it cramps up any objects (31,32).
