摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transmission system capable of extending a transmissible distance and improving transmission quality by suppressing correlation between wavelengths due to a non-linear optical effect caused in an optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The WDM transmission system comprising a transmission transponder part for receiving optical signals sent from a client device, converting the wavelengths of the optical signals, and sending the wavelength-converted optical signals, a wavelength multiplex part for multiplexing the wavelengths of a plurality of optical signals received from the transmission transponder part and sending the multiplexed optical signal to a transmission line, a wavelength demultiplexing part for demutiplexing the wavelength multiplexed signal received from the transmission line in each wavelength and sending the separated optical signals, and a receiving transponder part for receiving the optical signals from the wavelength demultiplexing part, identifying and reproducing the received optical signals and sending the reproduced optical signals to an opposite client device is constituted so as to select the modulation code of each wavelength correspondingly to the transmission speed of each wavelength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
