The gynaecological examination couch has a tiltable seat with integral leg supports. A support at one end of the seat is mounted on a rail or roller so that it can slide and pivot relative to the seat and is operated electrically, hydraulically or pneumatically. An instrument table beside the couch is also mounted on rails so that it can swing towards and away from the seat to facilitate examination. The movement of the support also enables the patient to be positioned comfortably for a rectal examination. |
