A stent is provided to generate a firm load in a radius direction and to exert a sufficient flexibility to follow the curved structure of organs in the human body while in a crimping state. A stent includes a tube-type support frame, which is constituted by a first adjacent end(2) and a second adjacent end(3) arranged alternately in an axial direction; and connecting pieces(4) to connect the first adjacent end and the second adjacent end. Each of the first and second adjacent ends includes a plurality of curved support portions(21,31) arranged in a vertical direction; and curved hinges(22,32) to connect the curved support portions in zigzag. Each curved support portion has a curvature radius that remains constant at all spots on the curved support portions and does not vary even during the extension of the stent. The connecting pieces are extended parts of the curved support portion of one of adjacent ends, and have the same curvature radius as the curved support portions, while being connected to the curved support portion or the curved hinge of another adjacent end. |
