PERSONAL AUTHENTICATION METHOD AND DEVICE

A method and a device for authenticating a person are provided to prevent degradation of authentication accuracy for iris authentication in a mobile terminal equipped with a camera by using iris images having a different reflection position even if external light is reflected on an iris. A measurer measures intensity of near infrared in a photographing environment. A first authenticator captures a plurality of iris images having a different sunlight reflection position from an iris of a user and performs authentication by using the captured iris images when the intensity is higher than a threshold value. A second authenticator captures the iris images and performs the authentication by using the captured iris images when the intensity is lower than a threshold value.
