A system and a method for providing a traffic information service in a mobile communication network are provided to record location information of a mobile terminal, generate a traffic information provision ask message of information about a location to which the mobile terminal is moved in case of changing the location of the mobile terminal, and transmit the generated message to the mobile terminal. A server(112) records location information of a mobile terminal(100). A message center(122) generates and transmits a traffic information provision ask message to the mobile terminal if the location information of the mobile terminal is changed. A service providing server(126) controls the message center to generate the traffic information provision ask message and transmit the generated message to the mobile terminal through a mobile communication network when the location information of the mobile terminal is changed. |
