A mobile communication terminal and an operation method thereof are provided to enable predetermined menus to be displayed as sliding on an idle screen, so that the corresponding menus can be immediately executed even without a separate menu calling process, while monotony of the idle screen can be avoided. A memory(40) stores a preset slide menu list, and a display(20) displays the slide menu list on an idle screen. A controller(10) sets the slide menu list for predetermined menus selected by a user, displays the slide menu list so that the slide menu list slides on the idle screen if a slide menu screen-on function is set, and controls so that a selected menu is executed if the menu displayed on the idle screen is selected among the respective menus included in the slide menu list. A communication module(50) transmits and receives data.
