HOME PAD DEVICE

A home pad device is provided to restrict release operation of a locking mode strictly for prohibiting use of the home pad device, thereby protecting stored information and maintaining secret of the stored information. A display(14) displays a picture for processing at least one function related to schedule management or message management. An input unit(11) is provided on a picture of the display and inputs data by touch. A control unit(12) sets a picture locking mode to prohibit data input through a main picture displayed at the display, and controls release of the set locking mode in accordance with a result of authenticating release request of the picture locking mode. A storing unit(13) stores authentication information for authentication. If it is required to release the locking mode, the control unit displays a picture for inputting a password. If the inputted password is matched with the password stored in the storing unit, the control unit releases the locking mode. If not, the control unit maintains the locking mode.
