A plug connector for engaging a socket 14 embedded in the wall of a cathode-ray tube 16 comprises a metal base member 26 having shouldered spring fingers 28 extending from one side to form a plug which snaps into the socket and having a cup-shaped corona shield 10 secured to the other side by a rivet 32 so as to surround the end of a lead 12 soldered to the rivet. The edge 38 of the shield is curled inwardly so as to terminate within the wall 36.
