Parking brake, especially for a wheelchair

The brake has a pivoted lever (8) pivoted in a parking position by a hand brake lever such that a pressing unit (10) abuts against a tire (2) of a wheel chair in a force impinging manner. An elastic part of a housing cover (5) fixed at a holding unit is designed as a restoring force applying unit, which is set in a pre-stressed condition. The housing cover partially covers the levers of the brake.
