ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY HAVING IMPROVED ADHESIVE STRENGTH AND CONDUCTIVITY AND ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL CONTAINING THE SAME

An electrode assembly, and an electrochemical cell containing the electrode assembly are provided to improve the binding force between an electrode and a separator and conductivity and to enhance the performance of lifetime characteristics of an electrochemical cell. An electrode assembly(100) comprises a positive electrode(210); a negative electrode(220); and a separator(300) where the positive electrode and the negative electrode are combined, wherein a silane-based compound(400) having a reactive group forming a chemical bonding with an organic component and a reactive group forming a chemical bonding with an inorganic component is coated on the interface of an electrode and a separator and/or the upper and lower outer circumference of a separator. Preferably the separator is made of a polyolefin or a fluorocarbon-based polymer; and the layer of the silane-based compound has a thickness of 0.5-50 micrometers.
