PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an A/D converter for changing an analog signal into a digital signal in a short time. SOLUTION: The A/D converter includes an analog data storage section 11 for holding an input analog data; a first DA converter 13b for performing analog conversion from the input digital data to a first reference voltage V14a changing in a first voltage region out of all the voltage regions, where the signal voltage of the input analog data can take assumably; a second DA converter 13b for performing analog conversion from the input digital data to a second reference voltage V14b changing in a second voltage region out of all the voltage regions; a first comparator 14a for comparing the input analog data with a first reference voltage V14a; a second comparator 14b of for comparing the input analog data with a second reference voltage V14b; and a digital data storage unit 16 for holding the corresponding digital data in the case of change of the conditions on the basis of each comparison result of the first comparator 14a and the second comparator 14b.
