PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material composition for liquid crystal display cell which is excellent in an adhesion strength to a glass substrate that has been required for the conventional sealing material composition for liquid crystal display cell. SOLUTION: The sealing material composition for liquid crystal display element characteristically contains 5-50 mass parts latent hardening agent (B), and 0.1-10 mass parts photo-polymerization initiator (C) per epoxy ingredient of a component (A), partially (meth)acrylate modified epoxy-resin 100 mass parts, and 10-40 mass parts inorganic filler (D), characterized in that 3-40 mass% in it is occupied with talc, per composition. The sealing material composition for the liquid crystal display element is excellent in the adhesion property to the glass substrate and in a non-contaminating property against a liquid crystal, in workability and in mechanical characteristics, and is suitably used in a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device with an ODF (One Drop Fill) method.
