PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly use the processor resources of a platform machine, as various types of processors of a target machine, in accordance with a state of the target machine. SOLUTION: An emulation device is employed, which is provided with a platform machine 300 which emulates a target machine including logical processors. The platform machine 300 is provided with; physical processors 311 including preparatory processors; and a diagnostic processor 340. The diagnostic processor 340 refers to a table, which correlates the physical processors 311 with the logical processors, allocates the physical processors 311 to the functions of the logical processors, and makes the physical processors operate so as to execute emulation. Then, if one of the physical processor 311, which are operating as a target machine, is degenerated due to a malfunction, the diagnosis processor 340 updates the contents of the table, regardless of the kind of the logical processor to which the degenerated processor is allocated, and incorporates the auxiliary processor as an alternate of the degenerated processor.
