PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel floating matter removing device capable of smoothly capturing floating matter and efficiently removing the captured floating matter to smoothly transfer and discharge it to a discharge line. SOLUTION: The floating matter removing device comprises a main removing rotary fence formed of a net or the like endlessly rotated to capture floating matter in the water and conveying the captured floating matter into a position above the water surface; a bearer for receiving the captured floating matter captured by the main removing rotary fence and delivering it to the discharge line; an auxiliary lifting device cooperating with the main removing rotary fence to lift, transfer and place the captured floating matter on the bearer; a water jetting device for dropping the captured floating matter rising above the bearer without coming off as it is caught in the removing rotary fence, onto the bearer; and a water jetting device provided at the bearer to shred the captured floating matter.
