<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reflection efficiency of a semi-transmissive liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The semi-transmissive liquid crystal display device (1)in which the liquid crystal layer is composed of a positive liquid crystal, satisfies inequality θt>θr, wherein θt represents an angle which is a narrower one out of angles between an initial liquid crystal alignment direction of a liquid crystal layer and an extension direction of a pixel electrode of a transmissive section and θr represents an angle which is a narrower one out of angles between the initial liquid crystal alignment direction of the liquid crystal layer and an extension direction of a pixel electrode of a reflective section, and the semi-transmissive liquid crystal display device (2) in which the liquid crystal layer is composed of a negative liquid crystal, satisfies inequality θr>θt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
